About Us
Atlanta Speed Scenes was founded in 2013 by filmmaker and actor, Joseph Lavender. After shooting some short scenes for a friend, he discovered a need for actors in Atlanta and the Southeast. Many times over, he heard stories of actors working on low budget films and student films that either never provided footage that was promised, the footage was provided years later, or just wasn’t very good quality. This is a story we’ve heard over and over from actors. We know that actors need a strong reel to attract higher profile productions and get those auditions. How do you bridge the gap when you’re not getting that all important reel footage after you finish a project? That’s where we come in!
Atlanta Speed Scenes provides high quality scenes that you can use to spice up your demo reel, post on Actor’s Access, and give yourself a leg up over the competition! All of our scenes are custom written using our knowledge of the industry to craft scenes that look and feel like they were pulled straight from a major film or TV show!
What is a Speed Scene?
Speed Scenes are our specific brand of custom written demo reel scenes for actors. A 1-2 minute long scene, custom written by us to showcase the actor in the best way possible so that casting directors can get a sense of who you are as an actor, what you look like on camera in a real film scenario, and immediately get an idea of your acting ability. Our scenes are dialog driven with an emphasis on medium and closeup shots that really showcase the actor to the fullest extent. While Speed Scenes are not a replacement for actual footage from major film and TV shows you have booked, they can help bridge the gap until you get there!
